About the ASU Web Community
Welcome to the new UTO-sponsored ASU community for web designers, developers and programmers. The ASU Web Community includes people from all four campuses and from all disciplines. We're an informal group and are open to anyone. There's no signup process or membership dues—if you have an interest in the ASU web, we warmly welcome you as a member.
On the Web Community, we hope to establish an "authoritative" place where web designers, developers and programmers can go to get accurate information about the Internet and the ASU web. But the Web Community is much more than an information dissemination group. We're a collaborative community that works together to develop and create university projects.
Our Goals
The Web Community is:
- A social networking site that enhances communications and unifies the university web development efforts.
- A supportive resource for members to ask questions about and discuss web development and code.
- A friendly venue for sharing code, designs, tips and other resources.
- A shared code repository where anyone in the community can look at code, post code, and collaborate on projects.
- A forum for community members to collaboratively establish best practices for design and code.
Sponsored Events
In addition to the activities on this site, the Web Community will sponsor workshops throughout the year. We will also host a day-long event every 6 months so members can gather to socialize and talk about hot topics regarding web design, development and programming at ASU. We'll attempt to make all meetings virtual so everyone can participate. Both virtual and physical meetings will be recorded and posted on the site so they are freely available to the community.
How You Can Help
A community is only as strong and as active as its members. Participate on this site—ask questions and provide answers on the forums; add links to Resources; share specialized knowledge, tips and guidance in Articles. The Code Repository is a central and vital aspect of our community. Please contribute freely.
You can participate in the development of this community by suggesting or helping to arrange workshops, panels and trainings, as well as other events that are useful to the community. Please contact Adrian Teo with any ideas or offers of help.
Thank you for dropping by, and we hope to see you around the forums!
