I would like to get every one's input on how we can make the ASU Web Community's web presence better. What would you like to see on the web site? What would be most useful for you?

For example, I would like to see a searchable profile directory, with a listing of what everyone is working on, etc.

Throw out as many ideas as you can. The more we know of what the community wants, the better we can make this site.

Thanks for your time.

Thanks for starting this discussion.

  • First, the biggest thing that happened this week for the community was the Lullabot Drupal training. Look at the front page right now. Is their anything that mentioned this or shows it? What was learned by the community?
  • Why not have the initial forum post sends a copy to the WebCom@asu.edu group. A link can be provided in the email to respond if you are interested. Then this will record the entire discussion on the site to increase content, and at the same time not spam everyone with email replies.
  • Can we modify Drupal's core module to "View usage statistics" for the ASU community? Then have a feed of this information constantly posted on the site to see what modules the community is using?
  • I would like the site to become a place again to post triumphs and successes.
  • We hear and witness the steep learning curve of Drupal. Let’s have a special area focused for beginners.
  • People want to see immediate results of their contribution. It took me a while to figure out how to post anything after the change. Then it took me a while to find out how to post anything where I could find it.
  • Your though of a “searchable profile directory” is a good start. What I want is a way to “visually” see the community. Did you know their are over 300 people on the Webcom mail list?

Has anyone noticed that there are broken links in the Forums menu section on the right.

--A section for those who are just beginning would be great.
--I'm looking for some kind of "key word" search that helps me find past posts that pertain to my current issues.

What about on your profile page you can list what modules you use? Then when someone in the community wants to use the same one, they can do a search from within the site and ask questions from a person already using it.

Listing modules used would be a great idea. This would help to share creativity amoung the community to make this forum even better! Thanks for the insight. acai fit
