I've been talking with several people who have been really working hard at cleaning up the house, and its time for a little pay-back. So the last Friday of every month we are going to honor the person/team who has pruned the most old content off of asu.edu by giving them some free caffeine (or Coldstone), plus a huge dose of community whuffie.
So whenever you purge a bunch of files, leave a comment here with your department/team's name and how many files have been deleted. And don't worry if its not a huge number--every little bit counts.
The duststorm has begun....
The Graduate College just recently cleaned 600MB of space off of the web server!
Wow. That's more like bullk-trash day, Bill. The Provost site is 157 files lighter this month (and more to come soon).
the tempe online tour is 64 files more beautiful. man we've come a long way in our designs.
Jenna Amani and I have been working with a small group here in the ASU Libraries to weed content. We’ve spent the last few weeks on an initial weeding of the website. The results are pretty amazing: 6,581 files and 1.76 GB.
Congrats Jenna and Tammy! You guys did some impressive pruning. Serious amounts of whuffie for you... plus we'll be sending over some java-love. Bill, since your clean-up was above the norm, we're also going to send a little your way.
Thanks for making asu.edu a better place.
I have just removed 350 files and the West campus LEC (learning enhancement center) site. [Unit is now part of student success]
Scott, you are the definite winner for January... plus I know you have deleted almost 1,000 pages off of west.asu.edu in the last couple months as we transition to central locations of information. Thanks for everything you do to make asu.edu a better place.
I just removed 170MB out of on old directory.
regards!
