While trying to use the Installitron to create an instance of SugarCRM, I encountered this error:

Could Not Connect:MySQL error 1193: Unknown system variable 'NAMES'

Some digging revealed that the error occurs with MySQL versions 4.1.2 and older. Is this the case with ASU's webhosting environment?
