How big is too big when posting a streaming video.

I was recently asked by a different group to post a video to one of our sites here on campus.

It's 750MB.

What is a common procedure that others have used when posting a video of that size? YouTube, Flash,...?

In the past, I have converted video of this size to flv, and used a flash player. It should cut the size down to managable proportions, and make it more available for users to view.

I just recently ran into this with a 500MB file. If you have access to any one that has a mac server running leopard, it has quicktime server built into it and allows streaming video via quicktime format. I am not sure if UTO has a server solution to stream videos but would definitely be a must with a 750MB file.

Cheers,

Gregg
