Not sure if this is allowed here but I am looking for someone to program a site for me. I am not very familar with programming but I need someone to code something similar to the coding of myspace. It is completely different then myspace but is the best example I can give. The previous programmer I hired just did not have the capabilities to get it done. Ideally I would like someone who is experienced in web design also. If anyone is interested please email me at lehnenj@gmail.com to go over furthur details.
Instead of starting from scratch trying to write something similar, but different, than myspace it might be worth looking at platforms that solve a bulk of the problems for you. Drupal, and several Drupal modules, can be used to create a social networking type of environment with little to no coding on your part. I suggest checking it out. Drupal.org should have everything you need. Be sure to look at the Organic Groups module for group networking support.
Thanks Jeff for the info. The problem is I have no programming experience and it looks like you need some experience with drupal. I would rather just pay someone to do it. Could you recommend anyone in the area?
Unfortunately, no. If I knew of any good local Drupal developers, I probably would have tried to hire them already! We do have a Phoenix Drupal users' group at http://groups.drupal.org/phoenix-metro. You could post up your inquiry there. Otherwise, you could always start playing with Drupal and just post up questions you have to the Drupal forum on this site. There are several of us here at ASU that would be more than willing to help out.
