I like this particular web page better than the rest for a few reasons:
 1) I like the fact that the back-drop of the Web page is natural Arizona scenary... I think it's awesome to emphasize the beautiful scenary of Arizona because there aren't many states offering those red rock mountains, etc.
The back-drop photo feature to the page is great, because it can be changed to include only photos of Arizona scenary (including ones people don't typically associate w/ Arizona... like TREES (Flagstaff)! (possibly include a small Web link @ the bottom of the page linking to an ASU program associated with earth-friendly promotion, etc. that also shows ASU cares about our environment).Â
 2) I like the feel of the contemporary with the cool, sleek silver colors (and the photo currently featured), which would emphasize the "New" part of "New American University". The neat thing is that the photo also emphasizes traditional settings (pulling the old with the new).
The only thing that might take away from creating a similar "feel" to the page it has now is when the photos are swapped out on a regular basis, the way they're displayed may have to be doctored (like the blurry & in-focus effect currently there), to keep the "cool" colors and to cater to the majority of ASU's market: youth.
 3) I like the branding of ASU (as far as placement of logos and such), but I feel like the page needs a bit more of the maroon and gold (maybe as a "trim" together) trademark colors.
The page gets a bit dull at about the mid-point of the page, because the eyes are naturally attracted to the colors. It would be great to maybe border the middle (rather large) "box" that features the clickable items and displayed photo, with the maroon and gold colors. Just a thought...
I like the idea of the sunburst on the page being emphasized.
A great place for it would be where there is a blank spot on the bottom left-hand corner of the page... a gradient fade would look really pretty (the sunburst itself gold and maybe trimmed with the maroon to make it pop, with the gradient in the far bottom corner of the page).
I would put the menus at the bottom higher on the page.
Is there a way to see content as well? ... not able to read it all.
Let's incorporate the sunburst header on the home page.
