The Transformation Lab is a design research group that studies how design thinking and methods can be applied to change human behaviors, experiences, and lifestyles with interests in business, health, and sustainability. The group recognizes that the sociotechnical complexity of these design problems requires transdisciplinary collaborations, evidence, and innovative design methods and tools.

The areas of design research and practice of the lab are:

  • Visual and interaction design for behavior change in health and sustainability
  • Strategic design and innovation in services and organizations
  • Transdisciplinary collaboration using design methods and skills
  • Design research epistemology and methodology

The lab is part of The Design School in the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts
